The 4th Annual Just Love and Kindness Golf Tournament and Auction was held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Texarkana Golf Ranch in loving memory of Jarrod L. Klein. Laura and Robert Klein lost their youngest son, Jarrod, in 2017 to a senseless, meaningless, and preventable tragedy. Since then, they have watched even more families suffer this same fate, and as a family/collective/hive want better for our community. In honor of his memory, they started Just Love and Kindness to make a difference in our community.

The Texarkana Children’s Advocacy Center hosted its 2nd annual Multidisciplinary Team Awards Banquet and Appreciation Event, Heroes of Hope 2023, on Saturday, September 9th, at the Texarkana Convention Center. … Heroes of Hope honors our local multidisciplinary teams (in Texas and Arkansas), who are frontline professionals who respond to reports of child abuse and neglect.

The United Way of Greater Texarkana (UWGT) celebrated 100 years of continuous service on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Texarkana Texas Convention Center. Jazz saxophonist Rich Walkerentertained guests as they arrived and played his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Past Campaign Chairs, Past Board Chairs, and community leaders were recognized for their vital roles in the UWGT history. A United Way Worldwide (UWW) representative, Bill Kitson, Director, U.S. Central Region, was in town to participate in the epic Centennial Celebration.
Joseph Raymond Fine Art Studio hosted a pop-up art show on August 25 and 26, 2023, for Texarkana native, Tyler S. Arnold. Tyler is an accomplished artist with a passion for creating vibrant and striking works of art. He has been honing his skills for over a decade, and his unique style blends modern and traditional techniques. Joseph Raymond has hosted Tyler at his gallery since opening, and they both support and encourage each other's creativity.
Local musical talent, Jack Humphrey (18), released an original worship single, Close to Me, to Apple Music and Spotify on August 5, 2023. A release party was held at Local Habit Coffee Company to celebrate. The Farmers Bank & Trust Junior Pro-Am was held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Northridge Country Club. The new event was held in conjunction with the Texarkana Children Charities professional golf tournament that took place that week. Junior golfers got to play a 9-hole scramble with a Professional Golfer before the tournament as well as other “behind the scenes” perks. The Farmers Bank & Trust Junior Pro-Am was a huge success.
