Prodigy Yoga Ribbon Cutting

The Texarkana Chamber of Commerce with studio owner Jessica McCarty marked the official grand opening of Prodigy Yoga Studio and Boutique on July 31 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at its 3423 New Boston Road location. Prodigy may not be the only yoga studio in Texarkana, but it endeavors to be a different kind of yoga studio for a different kind of yoga practice. McCarty is a 200-hour Registered YogaFaith Trainer with the Christian Yoga Association. She teaches Christ-centered yoga, which promotes, physical, mental and spiritual health, rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ. Beyond the practice of yoga, Prodigy is also a fitness boutique, offering women’s athleisure wear, yoga mats, props, and everything else needed to encourage a successful yoga practice.

According to prodigyyoga.com, “the name PRODIGY comes from the word PRODIGAL, as in the story of the prodigal son from Luke chapter 15 of The Bible.” McCarty describes herself as “a prodigal child who would love to share her story with you at one of her YogaFaith HIStory classes.” Through breathwork and a therapeutic approach to body movement and Christ-centered meditation, Prodigy Yoga provides YogaFaith training to all individuals. According to McCarty, “Prodigy yoga meets all of your therapeutic needs… Jesus, yoga and shopping!”

Next door to The Granary Street Health Food Store, Prodigy Yoga will offer many class options, from beginner and restorative classes to trauma sensitive and power classes, at several times throughout each day. There’s a class and time slot for everyone. The Bible says, “It’s in Him we live, and move, and have our being,” and that’s the focus and foundation of Prodigy Yoga. Check out this new yoga opportunity and experience yoga from a different, Christ-centered perspective. Visit their website for more information www.prodigyyoga.com
